Deals I Found Over the Last Week
A look at the best deals I picked up this week, including the biggest savings of the year on two iPhones with service, a Facebook Marketplace score, and a couple of thrift store honorable mentions.
Deals I Found Over the Last Week
Over the last week, I ended up finding a few solid deals that were worth sharing. Some came from good timing, some came from just asking the right questions in the right place, and some came from being willing to dig a little and see what was out there.
Xbox Elite Series 2 Controller
The first deal I found was an Xbox Elite Series 2 controller. I paid $40 for it after finding it on Facebook Marketplace, and it only took a 15-minute drive to go pick it up.
That deal really came down to timing. The seller had only posted it about an hour before I messaged them, and they originally had it listed for $60. I was able to bring them down to $40, which made it a great pickup.
iPhone 16e
The second deal I found was actually the biggest savings of the year so far. I ended up getting two iPhone 16e phones through Boost Mobile by walking into the store in my neighborhood and asking what they had available if I switched my service to them.
The total came out to $283.73 for two iPhones with two months of service. That worked out to roughly $1,200 in savings, which easily made it the biggest savings of the year for me.
Deon’s Phone Service
The third deal I found was phone service for Deon through Mint Mobile. We were able to get three months of service for $10 per month, which should carry him through the summer.
That one wasn’t flashy, but it was practical and useful. Sometimes a good deal is just something that covers a real need at the right time for the right price.
Honorable Mentions
One honorable mention was a set of four Ambria thermal blackout curtains that I found at the thrift store for $20 total. That was still a really solid find, especially considering what a full set like that usually costs.
Another honorable mention was a SENTRO knitting machine that Kayla found at the thrift store for $4. It was missing the legs, but we were able to print replacements, and the total price I ended up paying was about $4.40, including the fix.
That one was especially satisfying because it turned a broken thrift store find into something usable again for almost nothing. It was also a nice example of how 3D printing can make cheap secondhand finds even more valuable.
Final Thoughts
What I like about deals like these is that they come from paying attention and being willing to act when the opportunity shows up. Sometimes it’s Facebook Marketplace, sometimes it’s a neighborhood phone store, and sometimes it’s just being willing to look around a thrift shop with an open mind.
